Oliver and S Fairy Tale Easter Dress

When we started talking about sewing for Easter, I knew I wanted to make my daughter a cute Easter dress this year, but I had such a hard time deciding what I wanted to make. I searched Pinterest and Google and shopped for patterns and fabric. And then I had so many ideas it was hard to narrow it down. I actually bought a couple of different fabrics because I couldn't decide. But then sometimes, things just click into place.

I found this darling fabric from Cotton and Steel that was pink and had little white lambs all over it (available here*). It had to be an Easter dress. Once I had decided that, I knew I wanted to use the Fairy Tale Dress by Oliver and S. It's such a sweet, classic dress with lovely details. I had made the dress once before (see it here), so I knew it would fit.

I went for view A this time for the sweet, classic look. It has the little Peter Pan collar, puffed tulip sleeves, and a little belt with bow. I absolutely adore this dress! Look at these little sleeves:

This dress was not a really quick and easy sew, but it's absolutely worth it. It has darts, a full lining, invisible zipper, and finishes with hand stitching. The Oliver and S patterns are always wonderful, though, and the drafting and instructions are super. Everything came together beautifully, and the instructions walk you through all of those details that make this dress really special inside and out.

  5. She is really looking an angel. Loved this dress and my niece is going to have her birthday next month. We have booked one of most elegant venues in Atlanta for her birthday celebrations and hope it will be a rocking party.
